Who Should Take an Online Course?
Becoming a Submersible Pilot or Surface Officer starts with completing the theoretical training before moving on to hands-on dives with a real submarine. The U-Boat Worx Academy is designed to provide interactive theory modules that you can study at your own pace, preparing you for the full course, where you’ll complete your theoretical exams as part of the certification process.
How Do I Access My Course?
Once you’ve enrolled, you will receive an email with your login details and a link to the U-Boat Worx Academy platform. Simply log in using your credentials to access your course materials. If you haven’t received the email, please check your spam folder or contact our support team for assistance.
Are There Prerequisites or Language Requirements?
To begin the theory course, no prior experience is required for either Submersible Pilots or Surface Officers. However:
Language: All course materials, instructions, and exams are in English. A strong command of English is essential for effective learning and communication during operations.
Age: Participants must be at least 18 years old.
Submersible Pilots: For the practical phase, basic technical aptitude, spatial awareness, and the ability to stay calm under pressure are important. While a specific fitness test is not required, good overall health and mobility are expected.
Surface Officers: Should be comfortable with vessel operations, radio communications, and safety protocols. Some maritime or technical experience is helpful but not mandatory.
Can I Take More than One Course at a Time?
No, you can only take one course at a time. To maintain focus and ensure a thorough understanding of the material, each course must be completed individually. Please note that the Surface Officer course is a required component of the Chief Pilot certification and must be completed as part of that training path.
Is The Theory Training Submarine-Specific?
The theory training covers both general principles of submersible operation and specific modules tailored to the particular submarine model you will be certified to operate. This ensures you gain the essential knowledge applicable to all subs, along with the detailed understanding needed for your specific vessel.
How Does Online Learning Work?
Once enrolled, you’ll get access to the U-Boat Worx Academy platform, where you can complete theory modules at your own pace. The online training is designed to help you prepare for the theory component of the full certification course. It includes interactive lessons, videos, and self-assessment quizzes. After completing the online modules, you’ll take a theory exam before progressing to the practical, hands-on training phase.
